Hi, I'm Tabitha Ward.

Welcome to CoCo-W Consulting.

People often ask what makes my approach to leadership and consulting different.

The answer is simple.

I've lived nearly every role inside the organizations I now serve.

My career began twenty years ago at the front desk of a dental practice welcoming patients and learning firsthand that every interaction shapes the patient experience. I quickly advanced through administrative roles such as scheduling, insurance, and team leadership, all while earning my Bachelor's degree in Education.

My curiosity about healthcare operations and desire to understand every aspect of a successful practice led me into clinical care. After working as a dental assistant, I was accepted into dental hygiene school and finished my degree with The Ohio State University's Dental Hygiene program, where I earned my Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene.

Rather than seeing clinical care as the finish line, I saw it as another piece of the puzzle.

As my career progressed, so did my responsibilities. I transitioned into leadership and executive roles, ultimately serving as Chief Operating Officer for multiple dental healthcare organizations while completing my Master of Business Administration at The Ohio State University's Fisher College of Business.

Throughout my journey, I've led nearly every area of practice operations including leadership development, strategic planning, human resources, recruiting, clinical training, operational excellence, financial performance, organizational culture, and business growth.

Experiencing every level of an organization has given me something that can't be taught in a classroom: perspective.

I understand the pressures of the front desk because I've worked there.

I understand clinical teams because I've cared for patients.

I understand executive leadership because I've led organizations through growth, change, and complexity all while maintaining an encouraging culture. These were all teams where people want to be a part of something bigger than themselves.

Along the way, I discovered something that changed the trajectory of my career.

The greatest challenges facing organizations are rarely operational or clinical.

They are leadership challenges.

Systems matter.

Processes matter.

But people determine whether those systems succeed.

Strong leadership builds trust. It creates accountability. It shapes culture. And when leaders grow, organizations grow with them.

Culture is everything- not one thing, EVERYTHING!

That belief became the foundation for CoCo-W Consulting.

CoCo-W stands for Courage Over Comfort • Ownership • Ward—a philosophy that has guided my career from day one. I believe lasting success comes from asking better questions, embracing courageous leadership, taking ownership, and building organizations with intention.

Today, I partner with healthcare leaders and organizations to strengthen leadership, improve operational performance, develop high-performing teams, and create cultures where people genuinely want to work and patients love to receive care.

Whether I'm coaching an emerging leader, facilitating a leadership workshop, or serving as a trusted executive advisor, my mission remains the same:

To help leaders stay curious, lead intentionally, and build organizations that make a lasting impact.

When I'm not working with clients, you'll find me with my husband, our two amazing children, and our Dalmatian, Zoe. We love traveling, playing tennis, cheering on our favorite teams, and making memories together.
